Direct Cremation

IN PERSON Arrangements w/ Funeral Director Assistance in Ordering Death Certificates

starting at $1,395

This packages include:

  • Transfer of the decedent from the place of death into our care (additional fee if more than 25 miles)
  • Caring for the deceased prior to cremation in our temperature controlled facility
  • Preparation and filing of the original death certificate
  • Alternative cardboard cremation container required by law
  • Cremation of the decedent (for decedents weighing more than 251 lbs., additional fees apply)
  • Return of cremated remains in a temporary urn (we also have a selection of traditional urns at our office or online for purchase)
  • Social Security notification
  • Order certified copies of the death certificates and have them mailed to your home
  • A Coroner's Permit fee of $50.00 will be assessed for all deaths that occur in Johnson County, Kansas (Coroners permit fees in other counties in Kansas or Missouri may be applicable)

ONLINE Arrangements w/out Funeral Director Assistance, Order your Own Death Certificate

This package includes:

  • Transfer of the decedent from the place of death into our care (additional fee if more than 25 miles)
  • Caring for the deceased prior to cremation in our temperature controlled facility
  • Online arrangements without the assistance of a funeral director (you will be responsible for ordering your own death certificates)
  • Alternative cardboard cremation container required by law
  • Cremation of the decedent (for decedents weighing more than 251 lbs., additional fees apply)
  • Return of cremated remains in a temporary urn (we also have a selection of traditional urns at our office or online for purchase)
  • A Coroner's Permit fee of $50.00 will be assessed for all deaths that occur in Johnson County, Kansas (Coroners permit fees in other counties in Kansas or Missouri may be applicable)

PLEASE NOTE: Please have the facility that is currently holding your loved one call Cremation Center of Kansas City at: 913-384-5566 to release them into our care.


If you email us an obituary, we will post it on the Cremation Center of Kansas City website free of charge. Obituaries are not submitted to newspapers. 

A storage fee of $89 per day may be assessed for remains (non-cremated) in our custody longer than 7-days.



A fee will be applied to all transactions made via credit card. This fee is calculated as a percentage of the total purchase amount and will be added to your bill at the time of payment. This fee is non-refundable and is charged to cover processing costs associated with credit card payments.
