William John Moxham

William John Moxham of K.C. MO. passed away on the morning of 12/23/13 at age 75.
He was the son of William Franklin. and Rayna C. Moxham. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher John, and brothers, William F. and Thomas.
He is survived by his children, Florence and William James, their mother, Divina Downs, siblings, Rayna Broyles and Bob Moxham, and his grandchildren, Mallory Moxham and Graeme Nash.
After high school, William John Moxham served in the United States Coast Guard before working at TWA/American Airlines for over 42 years. He lifted us, fixed our wings, and though you didn’t know it, he most likely helped you soar toward your loved ones. He was cherished dearly by all who knew him and will be forever missed. He was our family’s rock, our continent, and our constancy. Always kind and generous, he was so reliable — the type of person who was always there when we needed him, supporting us even when we weren’t aware. To know that he will be in the company of angels is one of his family’s few consolations in this loss. Maybe there in heaven, he’ll repair more wings. A memorial to honor this truly great man will be held in the Spring. His children will announce the date and location.
Bill was a fabulous coworker and one of my favorite folks at TWA. I enjoyed is wry wit on many occasions. I am saddened that I only now saw this, as it would have been my distinct honor and pleasure to say good-bye to my dear old mentor with the ornery smile! My condolences to his family and my regrets for not attending the service.
I am grateful for the life of Mr. Moxham. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
