Wanda Lee Moore Hamilton

Wanda Lee Moore Hamilton of Kansas City, Kansas passed away September 11, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House. Wanda was a member of Shawnee Boulevard Christian Church and always spoke of her love for Jesus and looked forward to spending eternity in heaven.

More than anything, Wanda loved Jesus. She taught each of us to love, serve and obey Jesus and his teachings. She also loved her family. There are four children, 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Each one was treated special and their birthdays were never forgotten. She also loved her brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many friends.

Wanda had a love for everything in nature. She loved to go camping and spend time outside. She loved to watch the deer run in her back field and to watch the many hummingbirds on her back porch. She enjoyed spending time down in the woods at “Boydston Holler”. She was amazed at how the deer were not afraid to come close and eat right in front of her. When she was weak, she would drive down and just sit in her car and enjoy nature and somehow it brought her peace. Wanda was an amazing mother! She made sure all of her kids knew how to be multifunctional; cooking, sewing, taking care of animals, growing and preparing vegetables, and taking care of one another.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Jaunita Moore, sister Louise Pearson, brothers, Jackie, Richard and Johnny Moore and her son Rellas M. Boydston, Jr. She is survived by her sister Lorna Lawson, Kansas City, KS, brothers, Bill Moore, Scottsdale, AZ and Charles Moore, Mesa, AZ, daughter Eleanor Boydston and son Mark Boydston of KCKs and Kurt and Elizabeth Boydston of Overland Park, Kansas. Wanda was especially loved and blessed by 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Friday September 14, at 2:00 pm at Shawnee Boulevard Christian Church, 818 Shawnee Road,KC, KS 66103. Family will receive friends at 1:00 pm. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Wanda will truly be missed by all but she left millions of memories for us to share and now she is walking hand in hand with Jesus and we can imagine the smile that is on her face!

Rest in Peace Momma!  We ALL love you
