Virgil Wayne Bowman, Sr.

Virgil Wayne Bowman, Sr. 83, of Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away June 12, 2013 at Cushing Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 7, 1929 in Kansas City, MO, son of Benjamin and Susie Bowman. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Virgil was a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He enjoyed fishing and watching Wheel of Fortune and wrestling.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Debbie Bartlett and Marsha Holler and ten siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, Leavenworth, son, Virgil Wayne, Jr. and daughters Vicki Fellner and Denise Manuel, all of Belton, MO, two brothers, Charles, Purdy, MO and Bob, Odessa, MO, ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Higginsville State Military Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the VFW.
