Thomas Marvin Hill
Thomas Hill, 81, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Armour Oaks Senior Living Community in Kansas City, MO, under the care of Odyssey Hospice. The Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, WaJune 14, 2011 at Christ the King Church, 8510 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64114.
Tom was born March 2, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Leto J. and Mae M. Hill. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Theater Arts. Tom was a life long professional actor and a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He was also a talented writer with a career in hotel and convention sales. His athletic skills in track and field won him a gold medal in the decathlon at the Senior Olympics at the age of 50 and he went on to become a competitive speed walker. Tom also had a deep respect and love for nature and enjoyed hiking on Cowles Mountain during his time in San Diego.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leto J. Hill, Jr. He is survived by five children; Thomas M. Hill and his wife, Lucia, Jeffrey A. Hill, Lawrence E. Hill and his wife Teresa, David Hill, and Linda Hill and her husband, Fabio, and 17 grandchildren.
The family gives a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Armour Oaks and to Odyssey Hospice for their excellent care this past year.
