    Hi Kay–

We’re in Germany right now, but will be home (in California) in a couple of weeks, and sure, I’d love to talk to you and hear about Steve in his later years. Like I say, we hadn’t had contact for quite a long time, but he was one of my best friends when I was younger. I had quite vivid dreams about many of the people I knew back then, just a night or two before I learned of his passing….as my wife reminds me, there are a lot of ways we communicate, on a lot of different levels. Anyway, please do drop me a line if you’d like at “jvigran(at)”.

Steve as a special guy, and will be missed. My condolences.

Thank you for the kind words John Vigran. He was indeed a very memorable man, and yes he did have that wicked sense of humor up until the last day. I would love to hear from you and learn about him in the earlier days. The many songs he wrote for me are such a wonderful gift and have helped me to cope with the loss.

I knew Steve many, many years ago in Topeka. He was a real cornerstone to our group of friends at that time, who would often meet at his house on Woodward Street in the early 1970’s. He was a one in a million, that’s for sure…..he never gave up on the things he loved, especially his music. He was quite passionate about his music and his beliefs…..I always admired his spirit and determination…..above all, his sense of humor, which was hilarious and very sophisticated. You always know someone is on your wavelength when they laugh at your jokes! Although I had not been in contact with him for many years, I will never forget him. Quite an original guy, Steve Cowell.
