Hatfield of Lincoln, on a double-date with her roommate.  They were married July 22, 1956 and lived in Lincoln while Kenneth finished college on the GI bill at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Their first son, Kenneth L. Shirley considered Bolivar her most beloved residence since it was their home for 23 years.  She enjoyed many activities such as gardening, playing bridge, cuddling her dogs, watching Nebraska football games and spending quality time with her immediate and extended family.  Shirley and Ken enjoyed hosting BBQs, playing washers and listening to country music with their many Bolivar friends.  Shirley participated in the local sorority chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Nu Chi.  She attended a weekly Monday morning breakfast with her friends as well as a weekly dinner with friends.  Her family will fondly remember her and are grateful that she enjoyed a good life with lots of adventure and an abundance of blessings.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Edward and Bertha Schnase of Hastings, Nebraska;  husband, Kenneth L. I am very sorry for your loss. I worked at Teters for Mr. Hatfield and knew Shirley thru him. Shirley was a very gracious person to know. She was very upbeat and a kindhearted soul. She loved her family very much. Memories are a blessing. May she rest in peace.
