Sean Mulvaney

Sean - 2012 (2)

Sean Mulvaney passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 20, 2022.

He was born in Leavenworth, KS on Sunday, June 3, 1984, to Kelly Mulvaney. Sean lived in Leavenworth his entire life, attending Howard Wilson Elementary school, St. Paul Lutheran School and graduating from Immaculata High School in 2002. He loved playing baseball, fishing and making people laugh. His first six years he spent glued to his grandpa, Charles Mulvaney’s, side. It was during this time with his grandpa that Sean learned woodworking and went on to build beautiful cabinets while working at Infinity Home Concepts in Basehor.

Sean was the proud father of Alexis, who he doted on. He loved taking her fishing, watching her participate in sports, teaching her how to use tools while making shelves in the shop and making her laugh while she was growing up.

Sean was a true friend; he never made a prejudgment about anyone and had an effect that made everyone feel welcome and want to reciprocate the friendship he offered. He had a natural gift to make friends… always… regardless of the situation.

Sean was preceded in death by his beloved grandpa, Charles. He is survived by his daughter Alexis Mulvaney, mother Kelly Mulvaney, grandmother Kathleen Mulvaney, uncles Kenneth (Mary) Mulvaney and Michael (Susan) Mulvaney as well as many cousins, great aunts and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 18th, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Home2 Suites, 250 Delaware, Leavenworth, Kansas. Pastor Tim Hutabarat, Southern Heights UMC, will provide an opening prayer. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Leavenworth County Humane Society in his memory or making a donation to help with final expenses.

I went to school with Sean and I can remember every time I made him laugh because I would be so proud because he was so funny. One time Sean and a bunch of other kids were playing Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers at recess and I had never seen the show so I was confused on how to play. He saw me watching and came over and explained it in the terms of X Men which he knew I was familiar with because we used to play X men in Boy Scouts instead of learn life skills. Nobody ever figured out that I was faking and it was our secret. I can’t imagine how much he is missed by the people who loved him. He was just a great guy. Im really sorry he’s gone.
