Scott Paxton Peterson, age 52, of Leawood, Kansas passed away on March 30, 2022.

Scott was born to Wesley and Carolyn Peterson, August 10,1969 in Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Walnut High School in 1988. He attended Iowa State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance.

In Scott’s life he excelled in a variety of sales positions. He spent the majority of his career as a Loan Officer in the mortgage business for 18 years. Scott was passionate about his work. He found joy through helping families find their dream home.

Growing up in Walnut Iowa, Scott enjoyed being involved in 4H, where he was named “The Horse Whisperer”. He also earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement attainable in Scouting. Through the years, Scott also loved boxing and continued his passion for the sport in college, where he competed on the Iowa State boxing team.

Scott was a loving son, husband, brother, father, nephew, cousin, and uncle.  He was preceded in death by his son, Liam Alexander Peterson and his mother, Carolyn Cay Peterson.

Scott is survived by his loving wife Natalie (Mulligan) Peterson, father, Wesley Dean Peterson, brother, Jay Daniel Peterson, sister-in-law Lindsay (Hess) Peterson, and adored nephew and niece, Jackson Dean and Jillian Elise Peterson. He is also survived by his father-in-law Jim Thomas Mulligan (Sharon Helton) and mother-in-law Lori (Looby) Ollar (Kurt Ollar), as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.


A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 7th at 4pm at King of Kings Lutheran Church (1701 NE 96th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155).  For those unable to attend the funeral, there will be Celebration of Life for Scott in the upcoming weeks.

    I never met Scott but remember the love Natalie always spoke of for him during our time together as she did HMU in Vegas for me. He was her world! I’m so sorry for this loss! I’m Sending prayers for strength and peace to Natalie and to the family.
