Sandra Waldron-Anderson

Mrs. Sandra Renee Waldron-Anderson was born December 25th, 1946, in Newark, New Jersey to Horace Waldron and Elizabeth Richards. She was the second born of ten children. 

Sandra received her high school diploma at West Side High in Newark, New Jersey. She then went on to earn an associate degree in accounting from Essex County College.

Years later, in search of a better life for both her and her children, she made the ultimate sacrifice, of leaving her mother and family to move to Olathe, Kansas in the year 1980. There she worked as a CNA at Lincoln Avenue Nursing Home. At this time she also attended nursing school at Kansas City, Kansas Community College, graduating in 1990 with an LPN degree. She would later retire from nursing in 1998 from Johnson County Nursing Home.

In 1990 she met Ernest Paul Anderson and they married in 2004.

Sandra received Christ in her life at Second Baptist Church of Olathe, where she became a member and was there for over 20 years. She was very active in her church and everyone knew her as the church greeter and a member of the mission sisters. She was also an active NAACP member for over 20 years.

Sandra was well known for her beautiful smile and loving personality. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. Her favorite hobbies were collecting her African American figurines and sewing. Sandra worked as an employee at Ms. Gege’s wonderland for 13 years. 

Sandra peacefully departed to be with our Lord on, Thursday, June 24th in her home with her daughter, Kadijah at her side.

Proceeding her in death are her parents, her sisters( Elaine Wilson, Cynthia Waldron, Maureen Waldron, Mrs. Sharazad Jackson(Alice), Ms. Lutrella Barnes, Ms. Whilemena Waldron, and her brother H.B. Waldron- Rasul (Horace) and her son Christopher Captain(Champ).

Sandra leaves to cherish her memory and legacy, two sons Anthony Waldron (Seattle, WA) and Dawud Waldron (Kansas City, KS), two daughters Ms. Glynis Captain (Olathe, KS), Mrs.Kadijah  Waldron-Davis (Vernon) (Springhill, KS). She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Michelle Pritchard (Edward), and Emily Turner (James). An honorary son, Brian Madison, three honorary grandchildren, and six honorary great-grandchildren. Also left behind are a host of family and friends that loved her dearly.

She may have left us but she will never be forgotten.
