Robert Lee Blackman

Robert Lee Blackman, 81, of Overland Park died March 30, 2018 at his home.

He was born to the late Thomas Blackman and Ivah Lucille Blake in Moberly, MO.  Bob grew up in southwest Missouri, graduating from Pittsburg State University with a Master’s Degree in art. He subsequently taught art at Northwest Missouri State University and at Kansas City Kansas Community College, from where he retired. Bob painted for much of his life producing non-objective paintings that he described as “constructive-oriented.”

He is survived by his wife, Susan, daughter Perrin Blackman, sister Judith Lindsey, nephew Blake Greenwood, and niece Robin Thornell.

Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Prairie State Park, 128 NW 150th Lane, Mindenmines, MO 64769.
