Philip Lee Fisher 66, of Paola passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on September 24, 2014.  He was born June 23, 1948 to William and Verlyn Fisher.
Phil was married to Nancy Siddall on July 15, 1967.  He was a Deputy with the Miami County Sheriff’s Department.  He worked at the Overland Park Fire Department, where he retired after 25 years of service.  Phil also served on the Paola City Council, and was a councilman when the city approved and built The Paola Family Pool.  After retiring they moved to Phoenix, Arizona, but later returned to Paola to be with family.  Building model trains or flying remote control planes with his grandsons was one of Phil’s favorite hobbies.  
Phil is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife Nancy of 47 years; brother Doug Fisher and sister Suzette Fisher, both of Arizona; sons Jim (Barb) Fisher, John (Melissa) Fisher, both of Paola, and a daughter Jamie (Jake) Jeffers of Lawrence, Kansas; and grandsons Zach and Nick Fisher (Jim) both of Paola.

A service celebrating Phil’s life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
