George Paul Majetich

in-loving-memory

George Paul Majetich, 78, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away November 20, 2012. He is survived by Carol, his wife of 54 years, two sons Glenn and Jeff, and three grandchildren, Brett, Nick and Alex all of Kansas City.

George, as anyone who crossed his path knew, was born and raised in the western Pennsylvania steel mill town of Donora. George was an avid sports fan with an encyclopedic knowledge of players and teams. He served in the army during the Korean War and attended Wilmington College in Ohio where he met his wife. After graduation he entered into a 25 year career with Montgomery Wards that relocated his family to multiple locations across the Midwest until finally settling in Kansas City. Upon leaving Wards he opened Cards ‘n More, card and party stores with locations North of the River and in Lee’s Summit.

George had a passion for work, sports, and arguing. However his greatest love was his grandchildren. He took his grandchildren everywhere; the zoo, Union Station, and all over the city. He was a very proud grandfather, and if you had to choose a high point of his life, it was the time he spent with them. He will be missed.

A reception will be held to celebrate his life at 5:00 pm, Saturday, December 1 at the Cove’s South Clubhouse, 8221 North Overland Drive, Kansas City MO 64151,
