Paul Burt

Paul Burt, 91, of Blue Springs, Missouri, died Friday, September 27, 2013 at Research Medical Center.

Mr. Burt was born June 10, 1922 in St. Louis, MO and was raised on a farm near Belle, Missouri.  He served in the Army and was a World War II Veteran.  He was a 50 year member of Independence Lodge No. 76, Shriner – Ararat Shrine, 32 degree Scottish Rite Freemason.  After the war, he worked at Armco Steel as an electrical foreman and retired after over 40 years of service.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Laurie Burt of Raymore, MO, three grandchildren; Scott Burt and wife Heather, Northridge, CA, Kimberly Arnold and husband Toby of Raytown, MO and Stacy Burt; one step-grandson, Michael Ladd and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Margery, in 2001.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Vitas Hospice at Research Medical Center,  2316 E. Meyer Blvd, KCMO  64132.

Services to be held privately.  Cremation.

    I am grateful for the life of Mr. Burt. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
