Patricia Jewell Obituary

On Thursday September 8th, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend Pat Jewell danced to Glory.

Pat was born to Lottie Kinsley and Albert Keys on February 24th, 1936. She was the youngest of five daughters and we are certain she is rejoicing in reuniting with them. Pat attended Catholic primary school and both Paseo and Westport High Schools. She began her working career for Southwestern Bell in 1954. After taking a pause to raise her children, Pat resumed her career with AT&T until her retirement in 1999. She loved her work and made lifelong friends whom she spent time with frequently. For mom, life was about family and friends. As a single mom, she cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had such a big smile on her face at the end of her life as she was able to see photos of her great grandchildren and a video of one taking her very first steps!

Her final days were spent happy. She loved her Sunflower Apartment friends and the way they brought joy to her life and made her feel special.

Her laugh was enormous and contagious and will be missed.

Pat is survived by her five children: Paul (Lisa) Jewell, Tara (Todd) Preator, Wendy (Bret) Zickefoose, Lee (John) Ruether and Bret (Ton’a) Jewell. Her 15 grandchildren, Nick, Ryane, Aaron, Hali, Logan, Taran, Madison, Jake, Lauren, Travis, Jentry, Marina, Tyler, Bailey, and Jaden, 14 great-grandchildren, a beloved brother-in-law, J.C., and numerous friends who were more like family.

Pat was a wonderful lady….I was so blessed to have worked with her when we came from Little Rock to Kansas City…she took me under her caring wing and I’m forever grateful…Thru the years she had given me some sweet presents…one of them was a bath towel and wash cloth… on them were monogrammed Angels…I always think of her and smile when I see them …I loved Pat Jewell so much …she will always be in my heart …❤️for ever and always ❤️ she was an Angel here on earth..now in Heaven..♥️

Pat was a wonderful manager. My wife and I transferred to KC from Little Rock, Ar having never been here. Pat knew my mom who was also a manager with Southwestern Bell and AT&T through attending conferences with her. Pat made me feel right us feel right at home recounting her friendship with my mom. They were both kind souls that had excellent people skills. Prayers for Pat’s family, loved ones and friends.
