Pamela (Pam) Jane Forest, of Olathe KS, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 after almost a year of battling the horrible side effects of a COVID-19 infection. Pam was born on June 14, 1947 in Hoisington, KS to Bruce and Bernice Peck.

Pam and her husband Ed were married on August 9, 1969 at Danforth Chapel on the KU campus. Together they had and are survived by two children; Amy Gulley (husband Chris Gulley) and Ryan Forest (wife Raylene Forest). Additionally, Pam was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren; Andy, Ryan, Asia, Brianna, RJ, Olivia, Zach, and Lillian. She is also survived by three nephews; John David Peck, Steven Peck and Brad Reed, her brother-in-law; Don Seyfert and her sister-in-laws; Jane Anglin and Carol Peck. Pam also loved her three “bonus daughters”; Laura Sappenfield, Jennifer Sayler and Jessica Cavender. Pam was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her two siblings; John Peck of Liberty, MS. and Joyce Seyfert of Colby, KS.
Pam graduated from the University of Kansas School of Journalism with a bachelor’s in English. She was an editor for the university newspaper, The Daily Kansan and was one of the first women allowed in the press box at the NIT Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Pam retired after 29 years teaching English and Journalism for the Shawnee Mission School District. She spent her entire career at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School.
Anyone who knew Pam knows of her love for Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball, Kansas City Royals baseball, and Kansas City Chiefs football. She was especially excited to be able to see them all recently win a National Championship, a World Series, and a Super Bowl.
Pam also enjoyed weekend shopping trips with her children and grandchildren, playing early morning BINGO with her friends from all across the world, watching HGTV shows and feeding the dogs cheese and candy.

Service

Pam’s ashes will be joined with Ed’s, as she missed him so much and just wanted to be with him again. A celebration of Pam’s life will be announced at a later date as we are still working on those details.
