Orrin Wyldwood

Orrin 2

Orrin Wyldwood, 46, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, son of the late Ervin and Patricia Stedman (Williams).

Orrin graduated with a degree in Respiratory Therapy from Forest Park Community College and served, most recently, as a traveling respiratory therapist. His passion was emergency room trauma.

Orrin loved all things fantasy, even at an early age, beginning with Dungeons and Dragons. He went on to discover the worlds of Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Harry Potter and Star Wars. He loved all types of movies, giving movies as gifts, watching movies and found absolute joy in going to the movies with his children. They especially enjoyed the Marvel series.

Orrin will be remembered as a loving daddy to his children Autumn and Seth Wyldwood of Kansas City, Missouri (together with their mother, his ex-spouse, Sara Ivy Wyldwood); a brother to Beth (Eric) Nesbit; Daniel (Karen) Stedman; Dave Stedman (his children Kelsey and Mitchell Stedman); and a most loving uncle to Rachael Kraft. Orrin will be affectionately recalled as a stepson, Sharon (Stedman) Loper, step brother, nephew, cousin and friend. Preceding Orrin in his passing was his first wife, Jen Stedman.

Orrin was also known to his family as Dean James Stedman, which was his given name at birth. He will be lovingly remembered for the years of his life in which he was known as Dean.

Orrin’s son Seth said it best, “he loves him and will miss him forever”, a sentiment we all share.

It was Orrin’s request not to have a formal service, out of respect for his wishes, he will be remembered, and his life celebrated at a later date. He will be taken home to St. Louis, Missouri.

In Orrin’s memory and at Autumn’s request, please consider donating to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at afsp.org.
