Obituary

Wilma Sawalich peacefully passed away on March 2, 2024, in Olathe, Kansas, at the age of 94.

Born in Walker, Kansas, on October 22, 1929, Wilma's life journey was one filled with love, faith, and a deep commitment to sharing the hope she found in her beliefs.

Wilma's story began in Prosser, Washington, where she met her first husband, Roy Ledgett. She married him at the young age of 16 and started a family. She and Roy both became Jehovah's Witnesses and remained active together until Roy's death. Through various moves and life changes, it was her unwavering faith and dedication to Jehovah God that guided her path.

After the loss of Roy, Wilma found love again with Howard Sawalich, and together they embarked on a life filled with travel, ministry work, and spreading the message of hope that meant so much to them.

Her devotion to God and her fellow humans led Wilma to share her beliefs with countless others, resulting in gaining many spiritual children. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Wilma is survived by her granddaughters Shelley Vann and Shawn Daly, grandson Bobby Clingenpeel, and great-grandson Jesse Ellis. She was preceded in death by her two children, Alfred and Cecilia, her parents, Arthur and Luella Keeton, and her siblings, Calvin, Victor, Carl, Arthur Jr., Sharon and Paralee

A Memorial Service will take place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1113 S. Ridgeview Road, Olathe, Kansas, 66062 on March 16, 2024, at 4:00 PM, with a virtual option available for those unable to attend in person.

Wilma's granddaughter Shelley fondly remembers the cherished moments spent with her grandma and grandpa. Her best childhood memories were the time she spent with them.

As we bid farewell to Wilma we know that her rest is only temporary. We hold onto the promise of reunion and everlasting life soon to come.
