Vesta J. Cook aged 89 of Merriam died in her sleep the night of August 14, 2024. She was born July 27, 1935 in Fulton, MO. She graduated from Nursing School at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Saint Louis, MO in June 1957.

She leaves her husband of 67 years Jerry Cook, a daughter Julia Byerley, and son Bruce A. Cook.

She was an active member of the First Baptist church of Shawnee, KS for many years and had worked in the church nursey for many of those years. She also leaves a sister, Joyce Hanan and brothers David Hanan and Bruce Hanan.
