Shirley Ann Jennings (Stucki) 90, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, in Overland Park, Kansas. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Shirley was born November 28, 1934, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, on the Hill, moving to St. Louis County in 1958 to begin married life with her husband Harry of 70 years. Shirley was a graduate of Hadley Technical School and worked for the Lindbergh School District for 30+ years.
She was a founding member of Saint Philip's United Church of Christ in South St. Louis County and remained active in the church throughout her life. She was active in the youth group, bell choir, and Guys & Dolls. Shirley was an artist, square dancer, played the accordion, avid reader, swimmer, game player, camper, and coupon carrier. She was happiest with friends and family. She will be remembered as compassionate, funny, loving, and for inventing her own vocabulary, occasionally on purpose. Family will remember her when we stack the dishes in the "zink" or grab a meal at "Pantera."
Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Phoebe Stucki, father George Stucki, and husband Harry Jennings. She is survived by her brother James Stucki, sons, Matthew Jennings and wife Amy (Simons) and Michael Jennings and wife Michele (Harr), 5 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Saint Philip's United Church of Christ,10708 Lavinia Dr., Affton, Missouri, 63123. There will be informal receptions before and after the service at the church.
The family requests donations to St. Philip's United Church of Christ or the Oasis Tutoring Program/Lindbergh School District 500 Northwest Plaza, Ste. 425, St. Ann, MO, 63074, in lieu of flowers.
