Shawn Michael Kerschen, 41, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2026, due to a pulmonary embolism caused by an underlying medical condition that had gone undetected.

He was the beloved son of Connie Kraus and Mark Kerschen and the oldest of three children. Shawn is survived by his parents; his sisters, Krista Torres (Phil) and Kayla Goff (Jared); and his nephew, Evan Torres.

Like all of us, Shawn’s life included both beautiful moments and difficult seasons. But, through it all, those who knew him saw his kind heart, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for the people in his life.

May he rest peacefully.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Shawn’s life on Thursday. July 30, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church in Colwich. Rosary at 10:30 a.m., Eulogy at 10:50 a.m., and Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon follows at 12:00 p.m.
