Ronald Louis Scherer, 75 passed away on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 at the Kansas City, Missouri Veterans Affairs Medical Center, after suffering a decline in health. He was a resident of Delaware Highlands Assisted Living in Kansas City, Kansas.

Ron was born on December 14, 1948, in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Louis and Brigitte Scherer. He was the oldest of four children.

Ron attended Christ the King grade school and junior high and graduated from Maur Hill High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea from September 1968 until March 1971. He worked at General Motors, Good Will, and Hen House before retiring. In his free time, Ron enjoyed assisting a friend with her booth at a flea market. His hobbies included tinkering with cars, collecting WWII memorabilia, and playing his guitar.

Ron is survived by his two brothers, Steve and Tom Scherer who both reside in Kansas; a sister, Debbie Gore in Texas; and one niece, Audrey Scherer, of Florida. A private family service will be held with burial at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
