Robert "Pete" Lee Bennett Sr. passed on Friday April 5, 2024 in his home surrounded his family by his side. Robert was born May 4, 1928, to Henry Clay and Rose Marie Morris Bennett in Stanton, KS.

Robert enjoyed many activities such as attending Chiefs and Royals games and watching KU football and basketball games. For many years he enjoyed planting vegetable gardens with tomatos being his favorite. He was an avid bowler up into his 80s. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He has been a member of the First Baptist and Methodist Churches in his lifetime.

He married Mary Anna Ashton November 27, 1949 in Ottawa, KS. They made their home in Osawatomie, KS and had two children Cynthia "Cindy" Lee Wright (Andrew) and Robert "Rob" Lee Bennett Jr. (Jeanne) of Wichita, KS. He had 5 grand children and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and siblings William Bennett, Wanda Smith, Barbara Hicks, Freda Herbert, John Bennett, and Helen Westbrook. Robert is survived by his wife of 74 years.

We are so greatful to Gentiva Hospice for making Pete's last days as comfortable and dignified as possible. They have been such a blessing to our family and have touched so many more families.
