After graduating from Bishop Ward High School, he was recruited for his drafting skills to work for

certified as an Engineering Technician through NICET. He worked his way up to assistant city
engineer in the late sixties to mid-seventies.
Richard was a master furniture restorer. He started, co-owned, and operated The Furniture Stripping

Dad looked forward to the lunches with his son at their favorite lunch “spots.” He held a special place
in his heart for his children.
Papa Richard enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports: basketball, softball, soccer, and
bowling with them too! He was excited to watch his granddaughter’s ballet performance in the
Nutcracker last year and talking with his grandson about trucks, tractors, and such!
