Penelope (Penny) Sue Dove, 77, passed away on February 10, 2025, at her home in Overland Park, Kansas.

Born on January 9, 1948, she was the oldest of three children to father John Adrian and mother Peggy Sue (Stair) Brooks. Penny was a graduate of Liberty High School and the University of Missouri. She loved language, and expressed that in her professional life through teaching and then editing, with a long and fulfilling career with the American Academy of Family Physicians continuing medical education program.

Penny is survived by her daughter, Adrienne Rathert Dove (Eric); granddaughter, Rylie; and brother, John Adrian Brooks. Penelope was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Timothy Gene Brooks.

Penny will be remembered as an avid baseball fan who loyally cheered for the Kansas City Royals, as a proud Mizzou alumnus, and for her chocolate chip cookies.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Stroud's Overland Park (8301 WEST 135TH STREET, OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS 66223).
