Obituary

Patricia Kaye (Fennell) Dietrich, 84, passed away August 11, 2026, in Olathe, Kansas.

Originally born in Grove City, Pennsylvania, Pat had the opportunity to go on many

adventures. During the months she lived in Germany, Pat loved going on

‘Volksmarches,’ hikes through the beautiful countryside and collecting the prize

medallions given upon completion. She also came home with quite a collection of

German ornaments that she used to decorate her many Christmas trees.

Her favorite job was working at a clothing store during the time she lived in Virginia and

what luck, there was a shoe store right next door, so her paycheck was usually spent

before she made it home.

While living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she was a member of a hot air balloon crew and

participated in several hot air balloon festivals in Albuquerque. She later moved to

Owasso, Oklahoma, where many there knew her as a master gardener as she designed

and filled her yard with amazing flower gardens and enjoyed birdwatching.

After returning to Butler, Pennsylvania for several years, she moved to Kansas to be

close to her daughter and son-in-law, where she enjoyed playing bingo with her friends,

shopping, restaurants, and movies.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Charlotte Fennell, brother

Ronald Fennell and survived by daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Kevin Schorno. A

private celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
