Pamela Kay Strahan, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully from an unexpected cardiac event on September 10, 2026, in Overland Park, Kansas, at the age of 77. Born in Salina, Kansas, Pam grew up in Tescott, Kansas, where she developed a lifelong love for learning and community. Her academic excellence was evident early on; she graduated as Salutatorian from Tescott High School in 1967. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s in Education from Bethany College in 1971, paving the way for her first role as a high school English teacher in Norton, Kansas.

In June of 1972, she married the love of her life, Larry Strahan, and together they began a wonderful journey that lasted over five decades. After living in Hutchinson, Kansas, where Pam contributed to the community as a librarian and continuing education director at Hutchinson Hospital, they moved to Salina, Kansas, in 1976. It was there they launched their successful ServiceMaster franchise. Pam dedicated 40 years as a business manager at ServiceMaster of Salina Inc., demonstrating perseverance and an unwavering commitment to their family's business.

Beyond her professional life, Pam's heart was truly devoted to her family. She raised three children—Ward, Megan, and Lindsay—imbuing them with her values and love of life. Pam cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, rejoicing in their achievements and being their biggest cheerleader, whether in athletics or the arts. Her move to Olathe, Kansas, in 2020 allowed her to be closer to her grandchildren and continue celebrating their many milestones.

Pam found great joy in playing cards with her family, often earning the playful moniker "Face Card Grandma" for her uncanny luck. She shared this delightful activity with her beloved mother, and together they made many cherished memories across generations.

An adventurer at heart, Pam loved the Colorado mountains, finding peace and joy in skiing, hiking, and savoring time away from the Kansas heat alongside family and friends. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; Pam was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Salina, contributing her voice to the choir and her creativity to the art and environment committee.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Darrel and Barbara Eileen Nelson; her brother, Bruce Nelson; and her sister, Jody Hartnett. She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Strahan; her loving children, Ward Strahan, Megan Strahan, and Lindsay Brown; her cherished son-in-law, Ben Brown; and her adoring grandchildren, Ada, Lily, Eleanor, Naomi, Maclin, and Cameron.

A service to celebrate Pam's life will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Salina, Kansas, on October 3, 2026, at 10:00 am. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire those who knew her.
