Obituary

Ollie T. (Teddi) Oppenheimer passed away on June 22, 2024, at Kansas City Hospice House after a seven week illness. She was 93 years young.

Teddi was born March 5, 1931, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Brenda Josephine (Ent) and Roscoe D. "Ted" Tetherow.

Teddi loved working with numbers and shared her accounting talents with many Kansas City businesses including Putsch's Cafeterias, Bernstein-Rein Advertising, and for the past 19 years, Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she had just retired in March from her Tuesday morning job.

She had an unmatched love of cats, several of which were lucky enough to call her THEIR pet! Teddi loved sending greeting cards that she designed and printed on her computer. For many years, she taught water exercise classes called the "water babies", an activity that she truly loved.

"T O" was the license plate on her car, which was often seen at the Johnson County Library, Merriam Community Center, and the Mission Hy-Vee! She defied her age and kept active, meeting friends for Village Inn lunch, bingo, and coffee chats every month. She was a wizard at crossword and jigsaw puzzles… but her self-proclaimed greatest joy had to have been… chocolate!

She is survived by her daughter Jana Snyder (Steve Streeff) of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Please join in the fun and conversations as we honor our friend Teddi with a chocolate dessert bar on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024 from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm at Milburn Country Club, 7501 W. 69th St., Overland Park, KS 66204.
