Michelle Diana Jackson, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Independence, Missouri, on July 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 28, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, Michelle was the daughter of Twylah Louise Arnold and Bruce Abner Keller, and the stepdaughter of Michael E. Purpus of Magalia, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, and her beloved son, Jariod Jackson.

Michelle devoted her life to caring for others through her many years of service at both the Nova Center and the Sunshine Center, where she formed lifelong friendships and cared for people who became like family.

Michelle found joy in traveling, fishing, visiting the casino to play the slot machines, and cheering on her beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, who were the center of her life.

Michelle is lovingly survived by her son, Dale Jackson ( wife Jennifer Jackson); her grandchildren, Amanda Jackson ( spouse Rachelle Cruz ), Jake Jackson ( wife Erica Jackson ), Brooke Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Alyson Elder, Britney Crim, and Michael Crim; and her great-grandchildren, Cadyn Jackson, Sydney Jackson, Corbin Jackson, and Hunter Deweerdt. We also cannot forget about her two best friends, Kim Jackson and Elizabeth Wennersten, or all her friends she had as neighbors; they were always looking out for each other.

Michelle will be remembered for her kind heart, caring spirit, and unconditional love for her family. Her warmth, compassion, and gentle presence touched countless lives, and her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
