Marla Nadine Havener, 71, passed away on May 21, 2023, in Olathe, Kansas. Marla was born on June 6, 1951, in Independence, Kansas to John C Jackson and Melba N. Jackson (Morrison). Marla attended school in Sycamore, KS where she grew up. Marla graduated from Independence High School. She attended cosmetology school following graduation. She later further pursued her education at Independence Community College. Marla was a homemaker while her kids were young. She returned to the workforce when her children grew older. She worked as a Manager at McDonald's before transitioning into manufacturing work at Cessna and Standard Motors. Marla was a fun-loving and caring person with a big heart. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marla loved reading, watching musicals, John Wayne movies and cheering on her KC Chiefs. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Marla is survived by her daughter, Sharon Smith of Spring Hill,KS and son, Kevin Havener (Lilly) of Gardner, KS, brother John Jackson of Ohio, sister Dala Tyler (Tom) of Independence, KS, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, John C Jackson, and mother, Melba N. Jackson (Morrison). Services will be held in Independence, KS.
