Lynda Catherine Loveland passed away on May 6, 2025, from heart complications. Lyn was born in Chicago, Illinois, the second of seven siblings. She was a nurse, a friend, an animal lover, a traveler and so much more. When our mother passed away in April 1982, Lyn – just 21 years old– stepped up and provided a home for her four youngest siblings.

In that first year, Lyn anticipated that the initial Christmas after our mother passed away would be painful and difficult, so she changed many of the old family traditions (at least for a year) so that we didn't compare it to past Christmases and feel sad. By focusing on providing a stable home for her middle and high school aged brothers and sisters, she delayed many of her own interests and plans. She celebrated our birthdays, our graduations, our weddings, the birth of her nieces and nephews and the everyday moments of life with us. She was essential to, and brought energy and enthusiasm to, all of our special occasions.

Lyn was a devoted, fun and indulgent aunt. Her nieces and nephews hold many happy memories of their Aunt Lyn.  She not only loved her family, but also cherished her Boxer dogs – Rip, Dempsey, Clubber and George. There was not a more doting and loving dog owner than Lyn.

There were many facets to Lyn. We celebrate the supportive, loving, generous and funny daughter, sister and aunt that we all remember.
