Obituary

Lloyd J. Renner Jr.

January 3, 1952 – April 15, 2025

Lloyd J. Renner, 73, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away on April 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on January3, 1952, Lloyd lived a life marked by hard work, creativity, and love for his family and friends.

A dedicated truck driver for 55 years, Lloyd earned numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career. Despite the miles he logged, his heart was always with his family whether boating on Table Rock Lake, barbecuing ribs, or working on home projects, his truck, the boat, or the lake house.

An inventor at heart, Lloyd constantly dreamed up new projects and shared imaginative tales—like the legendary "family pickle business." A loyal Kansas City Royals fan, he celebrated every score with a spirited "whoot" to his daughter.

Lloyd adored his dogs, Harley and Linus, and found his greatest joy in time spent with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and lifelong friends. He expressed his love through regular check-ins, a listening ear, and a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Sr. and June Renner, and his brothers Gary and John. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debbie Renner; daughter Cristy Renner Fulton (Tim); son Blake Renner (Tonya); stepson Brian Hackler; grandchildren Macie, Preston, Beckett, and Mila; siblings Joan (Sonny Kelly), Tom, Pat (Greg Schwatken), Martin (Joyce), Paul (Kelly), Mary, Ann (Stan Koziatek); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Lloyd will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, creative spirit, and unwavering generosity. He took a genuine interest in others' lives and passions, making him a beloved dad, husband, papa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His legacy of resilience, love, and humor will continue to inspire all who knew him.
