Lisa Kathleen (Stark) Knold, 64, of Independence, MO went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Lisa was born to Perry and Cherrilyn Stark on September 11, 1959 in Des Moines, IA. The family moved to the Kansas City area in 1965 where Lisa has called home ever since.
Lisa was a spark of energy, fast and extremely intelligent. She excelled in Track & Field where she held running records at her high school for many years. Lisa also excelled in the classroom; which presented many opportunities, but she chose Nursing. Lisa earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from St. Lukes School of Nursing where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Nursing was her true calling, not only as a professional career, but in the way, Lisa always cared for others including the time spent tending to her Grandmother, which she always cherished.
Lisa was an extremely talented artist as well. She could have made her Art a career too; she saw beauty in everything. Whether she was refurbishing old furniture, planting her garden or painting, she breathed life into everything she touched. She shared a lot of that time with her life partner, Mike. The flower gardens they planted together were always the most lush and vibrant.
Lisa spent 30 years with her life partner Mike Knold. God always found a way to keep Mike and Lisa together. They truly loved and cared for each other until the very end.
Lisa's greatest accomplishment were her two sons, Paul Ryan and Cole Michael. While they chose different paths in life, they both have always made her so proud. She raised them both to be strong and resilient men. Lisa always enjoyed spending time with them whether it be a movie at the house or a Chiefs game, but the grandchildren her sons gave her were the greatest gift of all. Her grandchildren were always the light of her life; she adored them.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Perry & Cherrilyn Stark and sister Ann. Survivors include her life partner, Mike Knold, of Independence, MO, 2 sisters and 1 brother, Penny Stark, Perry Stark and Claudia Ayers, 2 sons, Paul Huckabey and wife Melissa, of Olathe, KS, Cole Huckabey and wife Katherine, of Independence, MO, step daughters, Kerry Stafford, of Oklahoma and Megan Knold of Raytown, MO, 11 grandchildren, Blake, Jillian, Ethan, Katelyn, Collin, Norah, Coal, Ailey, Lawson, Jalynn and Easton as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
