Leila was raised in Fortuna, where she learned the value of hard work and community. Her early career blossomed at the Missouri State Training School for Boys and she later worked for an insurance company in Jefferson City. She brought her exceptional skills to the medical field working for multiple distinguished doctors in the KC area before ultimately working at the University of Kansas Medical Center Heart Transplant Center. Through her meaningful career, she touched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and commitment.
A devoted and proud mother, Leila dedicated herself to raising her family in Prairie Village, Kansas, where she was actively involved in the PTA at the local elementary school. Her love for family was matched only by her love for creativity. An avid quilter, Leila crafted beautiful quilts that warmed both bodies and hearts, leaving tangible pieces of love for her family and friends to cherish.
Leila's adventurous spirit led her to travel frequently, with Colorado's summertime allure holding a special place in her heart. Her journeys were filled with exploration and joy, but it was the cherished moments with her family that truly defined her life.
Leila was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Oliver and Bertha Moon; brothers, Don and Bob Moon; half-siblings, Mack, Carl, Bertha, and Ruth; former husband, Alan Paschang; and her dear son, Scott Paschang.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her spirit with them always: her sons, Steve Paschang and his wife Lisa, Charles, and Matthew and his wife Cori. Her grandchildren, Craig, Jackie, Dillon, and her great-grandchild Maurice. They were her pride and joy. She also leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces and their families. She adored her extended family.
After a fulfilling career and family life, she retired to Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and later Sedalia, Missouri, where she continued to enrich the lives of those around her with grace and warmth.
Leila Belle Paschang was a shining example of a life well-lived, fueled by love and driven by purpose. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
