It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Michael Elder Sr, who passed

away peacefully on August 7, 2026, in Lansing, Kansas, at the age of 82. Born on December

23, 1943, Larry lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by his beloved family and cherished

friends.

Larry was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in restoring vintage cars to their former glory

and casting a line into the lake while fishing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed teaching and

bonding with his grandkids during target practice at the lake house, creating memories that

will be fondly remembered by those who shared in these moments.

Family was so important in Larry's life. He treasured every moment spent with his children, his

grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his days. A true animal

lover, his affection extended to his many loyal dogs, who were constant companions

throughout his life.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Paul Elder, and his mother, Tropha Elder. He is

survived by his sisters, Pat and Joyce Elder; his former wife, Cheri Elder; his daughters,

Tammy Haddix and her husband, Rick, and Pamala Lair and her husband, Brian; his son,

Larry Michael Elder Jr; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry

forward his legacy of warmth and love.

A private family memorial will be held to honor Larry's memory and celebrate his life. In this

time of remembrance, we reflect on the loving spirit of a man who truly valued the bonds of

family and friendship. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on

in the hearts of all who knew him.
