Larry Richard Boddy, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, in Shawnee, KS. Born on August 16, 1940, in Kansas City, KS, he lived a life dedicated to service and family.

Larry's career was marked by his commitment to law enforcement. He served with distinction in various capacities, including the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office and the Police Departments of Bonner Springs, Edwardsville, and Waterville, KS. His dedication to maintaining peace and safety in these communities was unwavering and deeply respected.

Beyond his professional life, Larry had a passion for activities that brought him joy and tranquility. He found great pleasure in shooting, mowing the lawn, and woodworking. He also enjoyed spending time watching classic westerns, a genre that captured his imagination and provided hours of enjoyment.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles D Boddy II and Lucille Oldham Boddy, and his brothers, Charles D Boddy III and John W Boddy. Larry now rests among them. He is survived by his beloved wife, Edna Carmody Boddy; his children, Jeffrey W (Amy)Boddy, Larry R Boddy Jr, and Rhonda K Boddy. Larry was also a proud grandfather to Rachel (Andy), Amanda (Steven), Christian, Trevor, Whitney, and Kelsey (Josh). He leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy to his later years.

A service to honor and celebrate Larry's life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 am at Calvary Bible Church, located at 518 W Insley Ave, Bonner Springs, KS 66012. Family and friends are invited to attend and share in the memory of a remarkable man who touched many lives with his kindness, dedication, and love.
