On May 31, 2024, June Louise Nold passed away peacefully at North Kansas City Hospice with her devoted son by her side and four generations of family surrounding her with love.
Services will be held on Wednesday June 12th at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6415 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone MO 64119. Visitation will start at 10:30 AM with the Rosary beginning at 11:30AM. The funeral Mass will be held at 12:00, with a reception to follow.
June was born to Mary Ann and Linden Nold on June 15th, 1951 in St. Joseph, MO. Being the third of ten siblings raised in Wathena, KS provided a dynamic childhood. She often recalled the nine years "in town" as Rockwellian. The latter nine in the countryside provided a different perspective closer to nature.
After graduating from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS, she and two friends drove to Denver without ever having filled up her own gas tank prior. Her ambition, work ethic and intelligence led to being an early trailblazer as a woman in management. On her days off, you would find her amongst the mountain range, enjoying what nature had to offer.
Following about ten years in Colorado, June and her son Stephen moved "back home" to Kansas City to be near family. As a single parent she would continue to make great sacrifices to give him the best opportunities she could, often leaning on family and close friends to make it all work.
Rarely backing down from a challenge, June transformed businesses into successes with her creativity and hard work. She would go above and beyond to provide tools and opportunities to help people overcome obstacles, truly caring about her employees.
June L Nold was an ambitious optimist with a fundamental drive to be of service and give to those in need. This was a core value she expressed in every area of her life. From assisting families in need, to volunteering with organizations, she would look for ways to bring light to other people's lives.
Throughout life, she enjoyed the arts, architecture, singing, passionately watching sports, with basketball being her absolute favorite. She loved finding a good rock to try to bring home, hugged trees and cherished quality time with friends and family.
With laughter or just a smile, June always made the best of things, finding joy in what life presented to her. She believed that everyone deserves unconditional love, even if not everyone receives it. But most of all, she loved and is loved.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann and Linden Nold, brother Mark Nold, Sister-in-law Jean Schuster, nephews Matthew Nold and Ian Patrick Nold, as well as many aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family and friends she loved. June is survived by her loving son, Stephen; daughter-in-law Christin; bonus son, Ryan, daughter Yayoi, and granddaughter Maya; siblings (and spouses) Lynn (Robert), Bruce, Paul (Mary Kay), Elizabeth, Jenifer (John), Monica, Angela, and Eric (Carol), sister-in-law Catherine; nieces and nephews Angela (Steven), Nikki, Margaret, Christopher, Luke (Jackie), Erin (Justin), Valarie (Jonathan), Maureen, Lucrecia, Bryant, Kathleen (Brandon), Emily, Elliott (Bridget), Mark, Haley (Buddy), Derek, Amber, Alex; aunts Patricia Pelot and Angela Derks; as well as twenty-one great-nieces and nephews, many cousins, extended family, and lifelong friends.
She is and will continue to be missed dearly.
