Frederick C. Marschel, Sr. son of Frederick C. and Mabel Marschel of St. Louis, Missouri and longtime resident of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away June 19, 2015. He was 91. Fred was blessed with his wife of 69 years, Patricia M. Marschel/Brooks and three children. He is survived by his wife, his son Frederick, Jr. and wife LaLonnie, daughter Beth, and grandson Clif. He was preceded in death by son David and brother Robert. Fred dreamed of becoming an aeronautical engineer prior to commission in the Navy as an aircraft carrier Corsair pilot in WWII, and promoted to Lt. Cmndr flying F-11 jets in the Naval reserve. He built and flew a Thorpe T-38 aircraft. He enjoyed his last flight recently courtesy of Crossroads Hospice. Fred was committed to his family and his work. He attended night school while working full time to graduate with a BS in Economics. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 38 years where he was a respected District Manager, and Director of Customer, Community & Public affairs. As part of his commitment to the community, Fred was past president of Kiwanis, Rotary, Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, and numerous boards, including chairman of the Lee's Summit Aeronautical Board. Fred spent his life with a commitment to always do what was good, right, and fair. He loved to golf, hunt, fish and travel when possible. He was the "rock" that grounded his family and business.
