Obituary

Eileen Mae (Rader) Thomas passed away March 11, 2014. She was born in Gage, OK in 1922. Most of her life was spent in Kansas City and later years in Kimberling City, MO. She loved God, her family and her music. She was a fine pianist who spent her life coaching and accompanying musicians and singers, including her husband of 63 yrs. , Evans Thomas, whom she met while at the Conservatory of Music. Eileen helped found the Lyric Opera Women's Committee and was a tireless worker for her SAI Music Fraternity, receiving service and leadership awards. She played the piano at the Pembroke Hill School, College of the Ozarks, Kimberling City United Methodist and Church of the Resurrection in Leawood. Eileen is survived by her children, Larry and Lewis Thomas, Daphne Williams and Debbie Stone, 6 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. A memorial celebration will be held April 10 at 2:00 pm at Wesley Covenant Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe, Leawood, KS. The family suggests donations be sent to Kimberling City United Methodist Church, 57 Lake Rd. 13-40, Kimberling City, MO 65686.
