Dr. Duane P Bachmann, 69 of Independence, MO passed away suddenly on January 13, 2013. Duane was born on Jan 17, 1943 in Pulaski, IA to Oscar and Gladys Bachmann. Duane graduated from Truman State in Kirksville, MO, getting his Masters at CMSU and later his PHD from K State in Manhattan, KS. He taught in Independence at Wm. Chrisman HS and later as a Professor of Marketing at CMSU in Warrensburg, MO. Duane was a very active member of Christ United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir, worked the food drops and taught Sunday School. He enjoyed singing with the KC Metro Men's Chorus and was an avid Golfer. Duane is survived by wife Mary; son, Michael; brother, Wendell; mother, Gladys as well as 3 foreign exchange students; Valentin Moreno, Nene Pinto and Ann Callaert. Duane was an organ donor and he lives on through his gift to others. A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday Feb 9th at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E 39th South Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be at 1pm with service starting at 2pm.
