Dottie Laster, 79, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away January 5, 2017 at her home. She was born August 21, 1937 in Lebanon, Missouri, daughter of Joseph and Gladys Herman. She graduated from Washington High School, Kansas City, Kansas and served in the US Army for three years. Dottie retired from Farmers Insurance after 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Laster of the home, her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Cindy Herman of Prairie Village, KS, her niece Pamela Birdsong, KCKS and nephew, Mark S. Herman of KCKS. She is also survived by a niece, Jessica Herman and her husband, Ben Prator and their daughter, Violet Joy Prator, KCMO. Burial will be at Ft. Leavenworth, KS at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society in memory of Dottie.
