Dori Sue Cunagin, born on July 31, 1977, at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on February 6, 2024, in Mission, Kansas, at the age of 46.

Dori's professional journey was marked by her unwavering dedication and passion for her work. From her role as a chef at The Big Biscuit to her long-standing position as a cashier at 7-11, she impressed all with her impeccable work ethic, reliability, and genuine personality. Dori poured her heart into all that she did, always showing kindness to customers as well as sharing her culinary creations, finding joy in the artistry of cooking and delighting others with her delicious dishes.

Beyond her professional life, Dori was a true artist at heart. Her creative spirit shone through in her intricate tattoo designs, each holding deep significance, especially those symbolizing her daughters. She had a remarkable talent for turning simple ingredients into delectable creations, showcasing her ingenuity and love for cooking.

Dori is survived by her loving family and friends, including her mother Susi Hogsett Duncan, and step-father Tom Duncan, father James Cunagin, grandmother Marion "Leona" Childers, brothers Chad and Cody Cunagin, and beloved daughters, Mattie Sue Cunagin Duncan and Maia Isabell Cunagin Duncan. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Omer Lee Hogsett, great-grandmother Mattie Childers, grandfather James A. Cunagin, grandmother Zelda Cunagin, and uncle Terry Cunagin.

Dori will forever be remembered as a gentle soul radiating kindness, care, and compassion. Her loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.  Her unwavering love and dedication to her loved ones left an indelible mark on those around her.  Dori lived life on her terms, by her principles, making a lasting impact on all fortunate enough to have crossed her path.  Her steadfast belief in living authentically and loving deeply left an enduring impression on those she loved. Dori's absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt, but her cherished memories will be forever treasured. Rest in peace, Sweet Girl, and may your spirit continue to shine bright in the hearts of those who loved you.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 23, 2024, at Westside Family Church in Lenexa, KS, to honor Dori's memory. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Celebration of Life from 11:00 pm to 12:00 pm.
