Dennis Samuel Giatras, age 93 of Mission, KS, passed away on May 30, 2026. He was born on October 5, 1932, in Kansas City, KS, to Spiro and Maria Giatras. Dennis attended St. John's military academy and was proud to be one of the old boys of St. John's. He married his wife Joyce Giatras on April 26, 1952, and celebrated 74 years of marriage. He loved movies and was a great storyteller. Many of his stories originated from his travels abroad, where he also excelled in photography. He loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. He had many different pets over the years and loved all animals. Those who loved him will miss his great stories and sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Giatras, sister Kathryn Cooper, daughter Denise Jenks, son Mark Giatras, and granddaughter Ashley Jenks (married to Alexander Percival). He is preceded in death by his parents Spiro and Maria Giatras, sister Bea “Jane”Giatras, daughter Christina Giatras, son David Giatras, son-in-law Tim Jenks, and brother-in-law John Cooper.
