Obituary

Deborah Diane Moore, age 46, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2016, surrounded by family and friends at the Saint Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, MO, after a 4-month courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Debbie was born May 18, 1970, in Kansas City, MO to Bonnie Jordan (Moore) Brown and William (Bill) Moore, Jr. She is survived by her mother Bonnie Brown (Ernest), her father Bill Moore (Rita), her beloved brother John Moore (Richard Franklin), her dear maternal grandmother Pearl Jordan (formerly of Warrensburg, MO) - all of Kansas City, Uncle Hal Jordan (Nasrin) of North Carolina, Aunt Linda Guin (John) of Warrensburg, Uncle Scott Newitt of Arizona, 5 cousins, a host of loving relatives in Georgia and Florida, as well as many very special friends. Debbie was an excellent student who graduated from Lutheran HS in Kansas City, MO, in 1988, where she was an avid basketball and volleyball player. She then continued her education at Central Missouri State University, completing her BS and MS Degrees in Criminal Justice Administration. Following graduation, she was employed by Cardiovascular Consultants for a number of years, and then Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate until her death. Debbie was a sweet, fun loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend who enjoyed traveling with family - the beaches of Hawaii being her favorite by far. She had an amazing soft spot for animals and wanted to protect/love them all. Her fondest memory was of her beloved "Missy Dog" who lived to be 17 because Debbie saved her from being homeless. Debbie's current pet, Abby, will miss her playmate dearly. All of her family and friends will miss her desperately. Debbie was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Clara and William Moore, Sr. , of Kansas City, MO, maternal grandfather, William (Bill) Jordan of Albany, GA, and Aunt Mary Newitt of Arizona. Debbie chose to be cremated and Cremation Center of Kansas City is in charge of the arrangements. A memorial service/Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to KC Pet Project (KCPetProject. org) or Friends of the Zoo (KansasCityzoo. org).
