Darryl Robert Cohen, a dedicated servant to his country and community, passed away on June 18, 2026, in Mission, Kansas, at the age of 78. Born on April 17, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri, Darryl lived a life marked by service, commitment, and love for his family.

Darryl devoted his professional life to environmental health and protection, serving as Manager of Environmental Health Services for the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department. Additionally, he contributed to national safety and environmental initiatives as an Environmental Protection Specialist (Army Civilian) at Fort Bliss, Texas.

His career was also marked by distinguished military service. Darryl initially served four years on active duty in the United States Air Force before continuing his dedication in the Army Reserve. Over the span of 30 years, he rose through the ranks, culminating in his assignment as the Command Sergeant Major of the 95th Division (Institutional Training).

Outside of his professional life, Darryl loved running and spending time with his grandchildren.

Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, Retta and Jack Cohen, his sister Sharen Fleischer, and his brother Terrance Cohen. He is survived by his loving wife Suzann; his sons, Travis and Sean; his daughter-in-law Cynthia; and his cherished grandchildren, William, Max, and Zoey.

Darryl's legacy of service and love will be remembered by all who knew him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
