Dalton
Attaway
Nov 12, 1941 — Jun 5, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dalton Howard Attaway, who departed this world on June 5, 2024, in Wellsville, Kansas, at the age of 82. Dalton was born on November 12, 1941, in Sweetwater, Texas.
Throughout his life, Dalton worked as a dedicated meat butcher, honing his craft with skill and precision. When he wasn't working, he found joy in coaching and watching both of his sons sporting events and pursuing his interests, which included golf, fishing, and hunting. He was also a Mason.
Dalton is preceded in death by his parents Dalton 'Norris ' Attaway and Harriet Chaney as well as his stepfather JM 'Sparky' Chaney, his brother Mark Attaway, and his wife Linda Attaway. He is survived by his brother Larry Attaway (Moonyene) of Crandall, Texas, a sister Jean Bean of Dayton, Texas, his sons Ken Attaway (Feona) of Ottawa, Kansas, and Scott Attaway (Melissa) of Lubbock, Texas, his granddaughters Teresea Kay Armenta, Keila Leake (Tanner), Kelsie Barta (Randy), Melissa Stewart (Aaron), his great-grandchildren Ava Armenta, Madelyn Leake, Cameron Barta, Tucker Leake, and Rosalie Barta and his nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held to honor and remember Dalton. May he rest in peace and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to St. Croix Hospice (Overland Park, Kansas branch), Vintage Park at Ottawa, Kansas, Wellsville Retirement Community (Kansas), or a charity of your choice.
