Cynthia Ann Ashlock (70) of Erie, Kansas passed away at Kansas Research Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones on August 30, 2024.
Cindy was born on December 3rd, 1953, in Moses Lake, Washington to Cecil and Luceil Wright. Cindy was the oldest of two children. She grew up in Shawnee, Kansas, and spent her childhood summers at her grandparents farm near Buffalo, Kansas. Cindy graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 1972.
After high school Cindy moved to Eureka, Kansas where she spent most of her life until meeting her late husband Junior Richards, and moving to Erie, Kansas in 2013. Junior and Cindy were married under God on July 8th, 2015. When she was younger, she loved to water ski and spent many days on the Lake of the Ozarks behind her father's boat, with her sister Vinita. Cindy enjoyed crafting, refinishing furniture, and fishing. She was a loving mother, and grandmother. She was very close with all her brothers and sisters-in-law. She loved to spend time with them, her daughter, and grandbabies. Cindy was known for her kind empathetic heart, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Cindy is proceeded in death by her son Dominick Angelo, husband Junior Richards, and parents Cecil and Luceil Wright
She leaves behind her daughter Teria Ashlock (Fiancé Trenton Gregg) of Owasso, Oklahoma. Her grandchildren Kaden, Stella, and Hayes of Owasso, Oklahoma. Trislyn, Clarisa, Jaylee, and Laylee of Chanute, Kansas. Her sister Vinita (John) Hilburn of Shawnee, Kansas. Brother-in-law and dearest friend Alva (Buck) Richards of Erie, Kansas. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Woodson County 4H Community Building on S. Fry Street in Yates Center, Kansas. We kindly ask everyone to bring a side dish to share as we come together to honor Cindy's memory. The family wishes to thank all those who have extended their support and love during this time.
