Lifelong resident of Smithville, Missouri, Curtis "Curt" Dean Blankenship, age 74, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones at North Kansas City Hospital. Curt was born on May 27, 1943 in Smithville, and was predeceased by his parents, Robert "Junior" and Emma Blankenship. Curt is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bobbi; his children, Kelly (wife, Jill) Blankenship; Kerry (fiancé, Jennifer Webb) Blankenship; Rachael (husband, Chuck) Wortman; step-daughter, Nichole (husband, Matthew) Dowd; his grand-daughter, Emma (husband, Carl) Priesendorf; his brother, Robert (wife, Marcie) Blankenship; and his sister, Carol Spiegelhalter, A celebration of Curt's life will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the American Legion, 2607 MO-92, Smithville, MO 64089, from 1:00- 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the Kansas City Pet Project in Curt's memory.
