Obituary

**Clarence Asher: 1947-2025**

Clarence Asher shuffled off this mortal coil on April 7, 2025, at the age of 78, presumably leaving behind a winning poker hand and an unfinished game of pool in Kansas City. Born on April 3, 1947, Clarence made his grand entrance into this world with a flair that would define him for decades.

As a machinist at the Board of Public Utilities, Clarence tuned boilers with the precision of a surgeon (give or take a little duct tape). When not ensuring the machinery ran smoother than a well-oiled poker bluff, he could be found indulging in his passions—playing poker with a face as unreadable as a blank check, shooting pool like a hustler, always a Mickeys in hand, and ensuring the neighborhood deer and birds never missed a meal.

Clarence journey was marked by his service as a Vietnam Veteran.

Preceding him in the great beyond were his parents, Lois Jean Cress and Farrell Pigg; his brothers Bob, David, and Doug Asher, and Eddie Pigg; his son Jeff Asher; and his son-in-law Mario Nunez.

Those left to celebrate Clarence legacy and remember his one-of-a-kind humor include his beloved wife Maggie Asher, daughters Denicia Nunez and Holly Davidson, son Matt Ashborn, and grandchildren Austin Asher, Tiffany Davidson, and Crystal Davidson. He also leaves behind his sisters Sue Yeagle and Jeanett McCowan, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will carry on his tradition of feeding wildlife and engaging in mischief. Let's not forget his great-grandchildren, who will undoubtedly hear tales of his life.

In true Clarence style, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12th, from 12-4 PM at the family home located at 5735 Oak Grove Rd, Kansas City, KS 66106. It's a potluck, so bring a dish, a lawn chair, and your own beverages—Clarence wouldn't have it any other way. May his memory be as enduring as his poker face and as lively as his pool shot.
