Charles Elmer Snook, 92, died February 12, 2012, at home, under the care of Odyssey Hospice. He was born April 12, 1919, near Union Star, Missouri. Following graduation from Chillicothe High School, in 1939 Chillicothe, Missouri. he was in the C. C. C. 's before being employed at Lake City Arsenal. He retired in 1986 after 26 years employed at Sunflower Ordinance, Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base, and Social Security Administration. Following retirement he was a part time life guard at Johnson County YMCA for 6 years. He was preceded in death by parents James and Clara (Mendenhall) Snook, sister Mary (Charles) Pennington and brother James (Montie) Snook. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Alma J. of the home, son Daniel C. of Kansas City and Thomas J. (Kathleen A. Schneider) of Honeoye Falls, New York. Memorial services are scheduled for Friday February 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Armour Heights Baptist Church, 7900 Jarboe Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. Visitation follows in Fellowship Hall.
